About
The Village of Orchard, established in 1881, got its name because a fruit orchard was planted in the area (we're told mainly apples with some pear trees). Orchard was often called the ‘Windmill Town’ because many of the families had their own wells with pumps, windmill power, and cisterns. The town was established to serve as a trading hub with the railroad's arrival in 1890. The village has traditionally been a tight-knit farming community.

The motel was built in the 1950's offering convenient accommodations for travelers and easy access to various businesses, attractions, and amenities in the area.
